The new Hyundai Palisade has been honored as one of Autotrader’s “Best New Cars for 2023.” The new Palisade is one of only 11 vehicles selected by a team of expert Autotrader editors who evaluated and scored a variety of new models using a range of criteria. High praise from Autotrader
Brian Moody, Autotrader’s executive editor noted that his publication has been lavishing praise on the Hyundai Palisade since it was first introduced for the 2020 model year. Autotrader takes a good look at the three-row Hyundai Palisade for 2023 and makes note of its more muscular face and its substantial list of new and updated features. Because the Palisade is Hyundai's largest and most luxurious SUV, it presides over all Hyundai SUVs in terms of space, technology and passenger comfort. Autotrader editors make note of key Palisade available upgrades like a 12-inch infotainment touch screen, nine airbags and Wi-Fi hotspot capability.
The new Hyundai Palisade runs with a 3.8-liter V6 engine that generates 291 horsepower, and an 8-speed automatic transmission that can be manually controlled by means of paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel. The new Palisade gives San Marcos and Vista, CA drivers three driver-controlled driving modes – Normal, Sport and Smart – as standard equipment. The new Palisade is available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and it comes with a 10-year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty that Autotrader called “outstanding.”

The editors at Autotrader praised the base-level 8-passenger SE trim as “anything but base.” The Autotrader editors were impressed with the standard redesigned steering wheel as well as the forward collision warning system, automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot collision avoidance system and rear cross-traffic alert, all as standard safety equipment. The Hyundai Palisade SEL trim
Autotrader liked the seven-passenger SL model for its exceptional value. They appreciated the fact that it added features like roof rails, an 8-way power adjustable driver seat, second-row captain’s chairs and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Other standard features include a hands-free smart lift gate, an automatically-dimming rear view mirror and wireless smartphone charging.
The Hyundai Palisade XRT
The XRT trim in the new Palisade is virtually the same as the SEL except for some trim elements, 20-inch alloy wheels and a power sunroof.
